Passionately curious about the rhythmic traditional songs of other cultures, Pam has spent
the last two years traveling around the world to meet tradition bearers and record songs with
them. The result is her new CD Dance to Your Shadow, and a book called

Dance to Your Shadow: Chasing a Song Across the World
Explore the wild and beautiful islands of the Scottish Hebrides, Arctic Canada and the
Georgia Sea Islands through the eyes of an American musician searching for ancient songs.
Pam Swan is currently recording rhythmic traditional a cappella with tradition bearers from
Africa, Scotland, Arctic Canada, Appalachia, Tuva, and the Georgia Sea Islands.
